A couple of weeks ago we started building a 12′ x 20′ hoop house at the farm. This was after many weeks of researching how others have done this and putting together a sketch and a materials list. This post shares a few videos of the process so far. The next post will cover budget and materials and resources for reference. Unfortunately, it’s been too cold to actually skin it. We are waiting for a warm day to get the plastic over the frame.

Hi Eric and Annabel! I was excited to see how the hoop house turned out after you mentioned giving it a try. Looks amazing!
Thanks, Jess! Just waiting for some sun and warm weather so we can get the plastic on. Hope your season is going well so far!
Annabel, that hoophouse is impressive. Did these past few days allow time to enclose it? You probably have seedlings underway, too. Is this the same site you unloaded that steaming heap at last year?

Hi Tom,
Thanks for your comment….yes, we got it skinned on Saturday and will post some new pics this week. That steaming heap of compost is a delivery of 10 yards and it is on the same site. Let me know if you want to come by and check it out. We are there almost every weekend now. Hope you have enjoyed getting outside lately too!
Cheers,
Annabel
