2. Glass House
Our farm’s focus is on growing a variety of vegetables for our neighbors and Cleveland restaurants to enjoy. This glass building is where most of our plants start their lives as seeds. We typically start sowing seeds inside in February. Even when it is still snowy outside, the glass house warms from the sun making a cozy environment for our young plants. We keep planting seeds all spring and into the summer, but when things start warming up, the temperature inside can easily top 100 degrees, so to cool it down, we put a shade cloth on top and have vents that open automatically to regulate the temperature.
Fun Fact!
This glass house dates back to the 1970s and was manufactured by the Everlite Company of Cleveland, OH!
