1. Herb Spiral
Growing food doesn’t have to take over your yard or your life. A great place for beginners to start is with herbs. This herb planting is functional as well as beautiful. There are a wide variety of herbs planted here (including oregano, thyme, basil and rosemary) that we utilize in our home and sell to our customers. The herb spiral is a permaculture technique that saves space through its multiple levels, and helps create microclimates so that each herb can grow in its ideal conditions. Water flows throughout the spiral so we plant herbs at the top that thrive with less water and ones near the bottom which prefer damp soil. Additionally, the stones themselves are part of the process; they absorb heat during the day and radiate it at night to help moderate our unpredictable growing season.Want to Learn More?
